Abstract
The orthodontic specialty developed more than twenty five years in Taiwan. The orthodontic assistant system and its training are still not formed. The orthodontist’s clinical management and assistant interrelationship is less reported. The purpose of this study was to investigate the assistant role in orthodontic clinic. Totally one hundred and thirty two clinics were investigated. The assistant works and its correlated issue were calculated. The results showed most orthodontists allowed assistant works are including X ray taking, impression taking and oral hygiene education. The salary of the assistant that paid by orthodontists were ranged from 25000 to 40000 dollars. All clinic provided the health insurance and take off system to assistant too.
